A Celebration of Colour, Craft, and Collaboration: Inside Mi Bolsa’s Flagship Launch at Westfield White City

When Mi Bolsa began in 2020, right in the heart of the pandemic, founder Mikayla Doo set out to create more than just another luxury handbag brand. She envisioned something that would bridge individuality and community. It would be a collection of handbags that invited people in from all walks of life, in every shade and story. Like a rainbow breaking through a storm cloud, Mi Bolsa was born.
Finding Our Place in the Fashion World
As with any growing brand, carving out space in the fashion industry hasn’t been without challenges. But one thing has remained clear: Mi Bolsa’s belief in doing things differently. That belief is what guided the concept behind the launch of our flagship store in Westfield London (White City). It was a moment that demanded more than just ribbon cutting. It deserved a celebration of who we are and what we stand for.
Rethinking What Luxury Means
When most people hear the word “luxury,” they think of premium materials, meticulous craftsmanship, and exclusivity. But Mi Bolsa has always asked a different question:
What if luxury could also mean inclusivity?
What if luxury wasn't defined by how few people can own it, but by how many feel welcomed by it? From day one, our goal has been to design beautiful, premium handbags that feel personal, empowering, and available to everyone. And with the opening of our flagship store, that mission has never felt more real.
The Runway as a Canvas for Collaboration
To mark this milestone, we wanted to create a launch that not only showcased our products but also celebrated the creative voices that align with our vision. So we invited artists, designers, and innovators into our world.
One of the most meaningful collaborations was with Haus of Ra, a London-based fashion house led by creative director and designer Raahim Khan. Since 2016, Haus of Ra has made a name for itself by blending traditional South Asian and Western couture techniques with sustainable, ethically sourced practices. Their studio is more than an atelier—it’s a community hub for stylists, photographers, and musicians who believe in cross-disciplinary, cultural storytelling.
A Heavenly Partnership: Mi Bolsa × Haus of Ra
When it came time to unveil our Cloud Bag Collection, Haus of Ra was the natural choice. Their craftsmanship and commitment to community made them the perfect creative partner to bring our vision to life. Alongside Haus of Ra, we invited Aless Bester, a London-based artist known for her futuristic 3D pen floral creations. Her ethereal face masks and accessories brought a sci-fi dreaminess to the already divine collection.
In just two weeks, these creative forces came together to build a truly magical moment—one that embodied the spirit of colour, craft, and collaboration.
The Night We’ll Never Forget
In true London fashion, our flagship launch brought together some of the city’s most exciting voices in fashion, press, and culture. It wasn’t just about handbags—it was about building something bigger. A vision of the future where artistry, identity, and craftsmanship are not gatekept but celebrated.
